We are delighted to be taking part in the Junior Achievement Ireland Programme 24/25.
Junior Achievement Ireland (JAI) works in partnership with supporting organisations to complement the work of educators by recruiting, vetting, training and supporting business volunteers to work with students to inspire and motivate them to value their education and maximise their potential.
We will take part in a number of modules throughout the year. So far students have taken part in the Teckno and It's my Business modules.
5th class have taken part in the Teckno Workshop. Teckno targets senior primary students to educate them at a young age about technology and tech careers. Using games to demystify technology this SFI and Dell supported workshop introduces students to AI, Data Analytics and cyber security. We are very grateful to Oluwayomi from Verizon who facilitated the TecKno Workshop for our 5th class students
4th Class students have taken part in the It’s my Business workshop. Throughout this six week programme students experience the initial steps necessary to start a business as they identify their own entrepreneurial characteristics, develop a start up from its ideation, innovation, and market research through to pitching their new business idea to potential ‘funders’. It’s my business is delivered in partnership with AIB. Noeleen Murphy has facilitated this programme for 4th class students. She explored the 4 ps of business (product, price, placement, promotion). Through their participation in this programme the students explore the importance of innovativeness, resilience, creativity, communication skills and problem solving skills.
